Soccer's Drama Queens

Posted by John Clarke, Business Partner, jc-Interactive

Tonight, while watching the soccer on SuperSport, I realised that most of the soccer players are panzies. Hear me out why I think this: a) In a rugby game, when you get tackled, you get up afterwards, and play even harder b) In soccer game, you *touch*, just barely, the other player and they go into a "Swan Dying" ballet move and stay down for nearly 5 minutes It is ridiculous. You are grown men, or so we hope, so start acting like it. I have never seen is any sport where Player A runs into Player B, and then Player B gets sent of with a red card. That is absolute BS, and the refs in the soccer world need to catch a wake-up, either that or they really need to start implementing technology for 2nd opinions to refs calls on the field. Anywho, that's my rant, leave your comments below as always :)

CodeTest.co.za :: Alpha version goes online :)

Posted by John Clarke, Business Partner, jc-Interactive

As of this morning at +- 5am, CodeTest.co.za's alpha code got launched on my web server :) This is only the first step. But, what is CodeTest? CodeTest is a hosting site dedicated to developers that would like to demo snippets of code, or to build small applications that they would like to demo to users without having to setup special hosting packages There are a lot to follow on this, so I will be updating you guys regularly on this :) So, sign-up for the notifications over at CodeTest and that way you will be the first to know of new updates ;) Anyways, let me start working on the next part. Just a quick mention, this system will have a extensive social side as well as full-blown RESTful API system with OAuth2.0 authentication model, so trust me when I say it will be secure :) hehe Anywho, later peeps! :)

Time to play some hide-and-seek :)

German scientists have created a three-dimensional "invisibility cloak" that can hide objects by bending light waves. The findings, published in the journal Science on Thursday, could in the future make it possible large objects invisible, but for now the researchers said they were not keen to speculate on possible applications. "For now these... cloaking devices are just a beautiful and exciting benchmark to show what transformation optics can do," said Tolga Ergin of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Transformation optics use a class of materials called metamaterials that guide and control light. In their study, Ergin and his colleagues used photonic crystals with a structure that looks like piles of wood to make an invisibility device, or cloak. Technique works They used the cloak to conceal a small bump on a gold surface - a bit like hiding a small object underneath a carpet and then making both the bump and the carpet invisible. The "cloak" was composed of special lenses that work by partially bending light waves to suppress the light scattering from the bump. "This is very exciting, because mankind has always thought about being invisible or having invisibility cloaks," Ergin said. "This is the first proof of principle. It shows that the technique works." He added, however, that it would be many years before anything as large as a person, car or tank could be made to disappear with this technique. "There have been proposals in the field of transformation optics for different devices like beam concentrators, beam shifters, super antennas which concentrate light into one point from all directions, and much, much more," he said. "It is really hard to say what the future will bring, but the field is definitely very broad and the possibilities are very large." via News24

[Music Video] Rolling Stones - Paint It Black

Whenever I hear this song, I think of Vietnam. Don't know why that is, but it could be linked to the era in which it came out or even the series "Tour of Duty" that showed many years ago on TV about soldiers in Vietnam. Either way, I love this song, and thought of sharing it with you today :) Apologies for the quality, but it is tough finding a good copy on YouTube :S You can get the lyrics here

Vajazzle?? Wtf?!?!

Posted by John Clarke, Business Partner, jc-Interactive

Just read a interesting post somewhere (can't find the link, just Google it :P), but apparently Jennifer Love-Hewitt, a actress that I had a crush on for some time, admitted on George Lopez's show that she "vajazzle's" her "va-jay-jay"..... Wtf!?!? Was my reaction... According to her the men love it... Now, I ask you with tears in my eyes : How and when has it come common place to talk about such things on public TV? Nevermind that, since when is it okay to talk about it all, especially sex in such open context? You might be reading this and going "he's a virgin", so what if I am? Is it really sooooo cool not to be one? Think about it... I would rather be a virgin and proud of myself on sticking to my morals, can you say the same? Anyways, back to the subject - I have now lost all respect for her... Is there any women/lady still left out there that is more decent than this? I know my fiancee is, and I am so proud of her for sticking to her morals and values :) Well, enough ranting from me... Post your comments and opinions below, and let's work together to make life and the world a better place for our children one day :)
